Julie's Contact Info:
678-644-8375 - text and voice julamoor@kennesaw.edu
Skype: julamoor
If you need to contact me during the sessions, please text (include your name so I know who it's from) or call. I will likely not be able to keep up with email while we are live.
Setup for the Day
We'll need to get everyone together technically before we start. Chris Jones is available to help and it's only necessary that you get through #2 before we get started. Here is your checklist for things to do in order of importance (note: if there is something here that you needed an invitation to that you did not receive, please let Julie know):
Send Julie your Skype username (julamoor@kennesaw.edu)
When prompted (in Skype), allow Julie to see when you are online.

Getting Setup
BEFORE the session, please run the "Wizard" with your headset on - this will check to make sure your system has all of the components needed to work. Chris has headsets for you if you need one. http://67.202.209.242/wizard/launcher.cgi?wc=wms
Accessing the Classroom
When we've run the system previously, it was a little flaky as to how it would let people in, so I'm giving you two options. If Option 1 doesn't work, proceed to Option 2.
Option 1: http://67.202.209.242/launcher.cgi?room=OCF
Click on link and sign on just by providing your name (no username or password required) and click enter. This should pop you directly into the room.
Option 2: http://67.202.209.242/main/classroom.html?
Click on this link, and provide your name (no username or password required) and click enter. This will pop you into a long list of rooms. Scroll down (the list is alphabetized) until you see "Meeting Space - Moore" - click on that to enter the room.
If you get asked to accept an applet or certificate, click "allow." Please be patient as we work out the kinks. Chris is there to troubleshoot as best as he can, and I'll try to monitor email, but phone would be a better way to let me know if you are having difficulty and can't work it out with Chris - 678-644-8375.
Intro Slide: Send Julie (julamoor@kennesaw.edu) a one-slide PowerPoint that is an introduction to you - have fun with it (Julie will provide a default one if you did not/do not have time)
Mindmeister: Go to email and accept Julie's invitation to a Mindmeister Map titled "2011 - Moving CFGs Online - Where are we now?"

If you have not set up Skype (www.skype.com) on your laptop, please do so during the break or lunch. Also, send Julie (or edit the Participants table above) your Skype username so she can add you to the conference.
If you need something to do, feel free to explore the wiki and even add to it if you'd like!

Where are We Now? A Virtual Chalk Talk
Technology: Synchronous collaborative mapping - Mindmeister (www.mindmeister.com)
If you have not done so already, please accept the invitation to this virtual map (it should have come to you in email) and set up an account on Mind Meister.
When you log in, you'll see the map "2001 - Moving CFGs Online - Where Are We Now" listed (also found at https://www.mindmeister.com/maps/show/76252111). Click on it and start playing. Know that you can edit other people's nodes, so be careful to not delete items, though you should feel very comfortable in moving them or connecting to them from other nodes.
In order to make this as authentic an experience as possible (in the spirit of Chalk Talk and because you'd be alone if doing this in a real, online CFG) please try to do this activity without talking to each other. Really. :)
If the map freezes on you (it happens sometimes when there are many people co-editing), just log out or close your browser and go back in.

iCFG
Participants in this Pre-Conference workshop over the last two years have been learning from each other by participating in a monthly iCFG. We act as a real CFG, learning about the interplay between tools, protocols, and community by exploring a variety of tools. Our next iCFG meeting (online via Skype) will be Sunday, Feburary 6, at 4:00pm Eastern Time. You have an open invitation to join us, please let Julie know. As an entire/newly constituted group, we will decide if Sundays @ 4 Eastern is still our best day/time or if we want to change.
Lunch!
If you are interested in continuing the conversation from today, please join members from past Pre-Conferences for lunch at SRI on Thursday. Donna Isaacs will be convening the group - likely at one of the hotel restaurants. Enjoy meeting others and talking about how we can move this work forward.
Sharing what we know
The iCFG is also the group that hast started this wiki. Please feel free to edit, add, modify it at anytime as you move through your journey.
Thank you so very much for your participation and willingness to step out of your comfort zones with our work today. I know it was a bit of a stretch with my not being able to be there, but I hope you had a valuable experience, picked up new ideas, a feel like you now belong to a community of like-minded people. You rock! I look forward to working with many of you around these issues in the near future!
Please don't hesitate to contact me at any time if I can be of help!
